STEMx – STEM School for the World

Presents

STEMx Summer Internship for High School Students

STEM 3.0: Summer Research Internship Programme for High School Students.

The surest way to get started with developing a research portfolio in your area of interest and/or develop a professional mentoring relationship with a faculty member to gain a recommendation letter in the future.

Programme Dates: June 15 – Aug 15, 2025 (Start and Duration of Programme is flexible)

Programme Duration: 6-8 Weeks (Faculty’s discretion)

Programme Venue: Multiple: On campus, Day-scholar, or Remote (Subject to understanding between Faculty & Student)

Who Can Attend:

(1) STEMx Alums (Preference is given to STEM Alums, though very exceptional non-alums may sometimes be admitted)

(2) 17-19 year olds with advanced knowledge of the subject

We are looking for students with advanced knowledge and maturity to undertake independent (supervised) research in the selected subject. Ideally, the student would know the professor – through interactions during STEMx Bootcamp – or will demonstrate knowledge of his research area and interests and propose a topic for the Summer. The final topic as well as expected outcome (paper, project, prototype, poster, etc.) will be discussed and agreed upon between the student and the faculty in advance.

Programme Fee: None.

STEM3.0 is an unfunded project where STEMx only serves to match-make between the student and the faculty and only provides light overall supervision. STEMx does not charge anything and does not take any responsibility of expenses incurred by the student for travel or related purposes. Any financial arrangement regarding regarding must be discussed and agreed upon with the faculty. Most Faculty may accept day-scholars as Summer Interns (preferred) though some may be able to arrange for hostel accommodation upon advance payment of a daily charge at the hostel.

* May require the candidate to do a couple of interviews with STEMx and the relevant faculty to apply.
